Privacy Policy
Last updated: [date] — draft for attorney review, not yet finalized for publication.
Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how The Boring Half ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit theboringhalf.com (the "Site") or submit an inquiry through it. The Boring Half is operated by Eric Kessler[, doing business as / through [entity name, if applicable]], based in Los Angeles, California.
Information we collect
We collect information in two ways:
- Information you provide directly. When you submit the contact form, we collect your name, company name, email address, company size, a description of what you need help with, your timeline, and how you heard about us.
- Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider (Netlify) may automatically log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, as is typical for any website. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated to reflect it.
Website typography is served via Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address as part of loading font files. Google's handling of that information is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
How we use your information
We use the information you submit to evaluate whether The Boring Half is a fit for your business, to respond to your inquiry, and to follow up about a potential engagement. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent your information to third parties.
How your information is stored and shared
Contact form submissions are processed and stored through Netlify Forms, our website hosting and forms provider, and are also delivered to our email inbox. We do not share your information with any other third party except as required by law, or with service providers who help us operate the Site under obligations of confidentiality.
Data retention
We retain contact form submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to evaluate and respond to your inquiry, or longer if we begin a working engagement together, or as required for legal or recordkeeping purposes. You can request deletion of your information at any time using the contact details below.
Your rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you. California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information, so there is no need to opt out of a sale. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.
Children's privacy
This Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information submitted through this Site, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
